Hi there! I am Frank Bulalacao, from the City of Manila, Philippines. I am not a medical practitioner nor a doctor of medicine but just an ordinary citizen operating a photo and print shop here in Manila City, Philippines.
Well, because of my frustrations in the past of getting an accurate and proper way to practice the rhythm method of birth control is what drove me to create a chart which now I call the DontGetPreggy Guide.
This guide I made was originally based on the cycle beads theory which was an original concept by the Institute for Reproductive Health. This Cycle Beads has almost the same concept as to the rhythm method of birth control only that it uses what looked like an oversized rosary with several beads.
In the past couple of years, my wife and I had agreed to practice the rhythm method of family planning. But we always ended up having an argument on the number of days to count on whether it should be before or after her menstruation that we should start counting the number of days. And the end result is that we found ourselves just guessing the number of days and yes, we always hit the right target and we will just be surprised to know that she's pregnant again.
This confusion on the accurate counting of days on how to avoid an unplanned pregnancy has somewhat led me to dedicate myself on finding the accurate and proper way to observe the rhythm method of birth control.
And fortunately, on one of my visit to the Marikina City Hall, here in the Philippines, I chanced upon this cycle beads which is being promoted then by the Marikina Health Office and endorsed by then celebrity couple Ronnie Rickets and Mariz.
But still, I find this cycle bead not very much affordable to ordinary folks aside from having an oversized necklace hanging around your neck. Another thing is that this cycle beads had a rubber ring attached on a bead that is being moved from day to day. The downside is that if you forgot to transfer the ring to the next bead on a certain day, the moving sequence of the rubber ring might be lost altogether.
I have it examined further and after some thorough scrutinizing, I have finally gotten its theory and reflected it on a chart which I now called DontGetPreggy Guide which you can find on one of my blog pages here.
