About a couple of days ago, as I was riding on a passenger jeep on my way home one late afternoon, suddenly 2 young tots boarded in. Their age could be somewhere from 8 while the older one is about 12 years old. They both appeared to be a neglected child as can be gleaned from their appearance, both bare-footed and with dirty clothes on their body. As I was looking at the two, I noticed that they seem to divide among them some coins they have somewhat collected in a day's toil. As i looked at the younger one, I couldn't help but ask myself, where could have been the parents of these two children are? They should have been spending their time in school and studying but they aren't.
This is a similar scene I remember way back when i was a child. I was also on board a passenger jeepney then when we stopped on an intersection suddenly there were several children scampering toward us passengers asking for some spare coins. That scene also led me to ask myself the same question above that left unanswered.
That question have catapulted in my young mind then and later concluded that they could have been a neglected children or have been caused by an unwanted pregnancies.
And that forgettable scene is just one reason that have seemed influence and inspire me to make this blog on getting rid of unplanned pregnancy.
The chart I made here is a ready reference guide and free of charge, nothing to download no membership fee and can also be accessed via sms, birth control thru text messaging.

CBCP vs DOH
The Catholic Bishops of the Philippines once again raise its opposition against the DOH on one of its implementing program aimed at preventing the spread of hiv-aids in the country.
Alarmed of the situation that the hiv virus had significantly spread in the past few months, the Department of Health adopted a program of distributing condoms as its measure to counter the threat of aids epidemic but the Catholic church opposed the idea saying it is not the right solution.
This made me think on what must be a better solution to the problem that is up on these bishop's mind? They just merely said no to the idea of DOH but never gave their own measure on how to combat the situation of this rapidly spreading deadly virus.
I think the Catholic church had already failed in its duty to spiritually guide those people who had aleady afflicted by the disease so now is the turn of the government agency involved like DOH to act on the situation.
But why the opposition of these so-called bishops? Why they should interfere with the job of other when they have miserably failed already to do what they must have done?
What i know is there is what we call a separation of church and state in our country, so why is the church mingling with the affairs which is a sole responsibility of the government or of the state?
Are these bishops aware of the fact that a large number of these virus carriers are from Asian countries including our country?
And according to a United Nations report that 90% of the 1.7 million Asian women living with HIV, the most affected are wives or girlfriends of overseas workers who came home and spread the disease to their partners.

If the Catholic bishops are not aware of these situations, then they should just let DOH do their job unless they came up with a better solution to remedy the problem.

Safety of Drugs in Pregnant Women Examined in New Study
Boston University’s School of Medicine is involved in an ongoing national study to help better understand which medications are safe for women to take during pregnancy and which medicines might harm an unborn child.
Most drugs on the market are not tested on pregnant women, as many studies designed to test the safety of these medications on pregnant women are deemed unethical.
Dr. Tara Dumont, a clinician with Boston Medical College’s Women’s Health Group, said that this lack of knowledge requires doctors and pregnant women to make judgment calls regarding the use of certain medications during pregnancy without adequate information or research.
“There’s so much that’s unknown,” said Dr. Dumont.
FULL STORY
In observing the natural method or rhythm method of birth control, there is also some confusions as to the safe and fertile period of a woman also because of lack of knowledge on the subject.
